About Emily
Emily is a graduate Communication Studies major in the Accelerated Bachelor's to Masters (AB/M) at the University of Rhode Island. She has previously interned with Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute in Communications & Development, working on social media and PR, as well as event and donor management. Emily is a medically retired NCAA D1 student-athlete and Head Campus Captain Coach and mental health advocate with The Hidden Opponent, working to break the stigma for student-athletes. She possesses skills in verbal and written communication, relationship development, public speaking, organization/time management, and leadership. She also has experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Salesforce.

Emily currently works as a Communications & Development Intern with Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute, a non-profit organization in Gloucester, MA. In her time with GMGI, Emily has designed content and managed analytics for the company's social media channels as well as assisted in planning and executing large scale events.

Emily served as a Campus Captain for The Hidden Opponent during the 2021-22 academic year, bringing mental health initiatives to Seton Hall University. She also managed the Instagram account, @tho_setonhall. She is now a Head Campus Captain Coach , organizing and supporting a group of over 100 student-athletes to help them learn to do the same.

In 2020, Emily was recognized as one of 15 finalists in the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream's "I, Too, Am the Dream" writing contest for her poem titled "We The People of Generation Z".
